Bento uses Apple's on-device text recognition (OCR) to read and index the words inside your images, all on your device, never uploaded. Once scanned, you can search any screenshot by the text it contains, just like a document.

Lock means a compartment is visible but gated by Face ID. Hide means the items don't appear in your inbox, search, or widgets at all. They live in a private vault you reveal with a pull-down gesture (or only from Settings, your choice).

Bento Pro is available as an annual subscription ($4.99/year, free trial included) or a one-time Founding Member purchase ($19.99). Yes, where it's available. On iPhone 16 and later with Apple Intelligence enabled in Settings, Bento uses it to improve voice transcription and screenshot search. On older devices, Bento falls back to Apple's standard on-device tools, which still work well.
